"Cry for You", also known equally "Cry for Yous (You lot'll Never Meet Me Once more)" on Hard2Beat,[1] is a song by Swedish singer Petra Marklund, performing equally September. Before the worldwide release in 2007, September had originally recorded the song for her studio album In Orbit (2005). However, in many compilations September has released, the song has appeared on her compilations including September, Dancing in Orbit, Gold and Cry for You lot - The Album. Co-ordinate to September, she explained the reason why she wanted to release it worldwide, by proverb "The song was and so strong by itself. And I've been there and it feels similar the fans are starved of dance music. In an interview with Digital Spy, they asked about the groundwork of the song, when she replied:[4]

"Cry for Yous" received positive reviews from music critics. Nick Levine from Digital Spy awarded the song with 4 stars out of v, giving it a positive review. Popjustice said the song is a "massive balls-out club anthem and we call back it works rather well."[11] Ben Norman from Virtually.com chosen the song the "All-time Trip the light fantastic Crossover Rails", while maxim "Robbins [Entertainment] has since made peace with me by backing and promoting Swedish singer September and this Europop confection. AllMusic had rated the song three-and-a-half-stars out of five stars.[xiii] Grand. In the Netherlands the song was a huge success too, peaking at number four and staying in the elevation 40 for 20-one weeks. In Australia, the original unmarried version was released to radio, rather than the shorter Uk remix (although the UK remix has been played several times on Australian radio). The song debuted at number 19 on 10 August 2008 and peaked at number 14. In New Zealand airplay and official charts, the song debuted at number xxx-nine on the result date of 22 September 2008.
"Weep for You" was certified gold for shipment of over 500,000 copies by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2010. The song is the first by a Swedish artist to exist certified by the RIAA since Ace of Base'southward Cruel Summer in 1998. The vocal was listed at number v on the Tiptop 100 Club Nautical chart Yr-End upshot.[16]
Music video [edit]
Two music videos were released for the single. The international version is set at the edge of a futuristic city within a large alone edifice which could be a prison house, barracks or factory. Inside are hundreds of clones dressed in black latex catsuits who are marching in unison, watched over by women wearing white. They at showtime announced to be marching towards a screen which shows September singing and dancing while wearing a strapless apparel. The video intercuts between September and one of the clones singing the song, while another clone dances atop a podium. On the bridge, one of the clones breaks ranks. Equally she runs abroad, she takes off her blackness sunglasses and hood of her catsuit to reveal she is September. Internet meme [edit]
Beginning in late 2018, "Cry for Y'all" received renewed interest when it appeared in a popular meme format on Twitter. The meme juxtaposes a portion of the song's chorus, in which Marklund sings "y'all'll never see me again", with captions that ascribe the statement to entities such as socks that go missing afterward doing laundry, "Tumblr users afterwards Dec 17th" (in reference to the site's ban on pornography), or "Lady Gaga to pop music later the gays [permit] ArtPop flop".[3]
